OT Polaris Ranger TM starting question

The manual's no help, so I need advice.

My 2004 Ranger TM has an 18 hp Robin engine with a bit under 400 hours. Over the last year it has started to hestitate before engaging the starter. Click, and nothing. Shut off and try again, click, and then it starts and runs normally. The battery doesn't appear to be low. The clicks are getting more and more numerous before it starts when cold. For the rest of the day it works perfectly.

Everything I can see of the wiring appears to be in good condition. There is no corrosion on the body. Suggestions?

Same battery? Also try jump starting with another battery. Another thing to try is to disconect the battery over night.

Try taking the battery conection off after dark and see if it sparks--that means a battery drain of some nature.

These are very cheap ways of finding out the problem, if this does not get some answeres post back.

sounds like corrosion hiding in there somewhere OR weak battery that leaks down overnite and recharges if and when it starts OR a weak solenoid.
charging the battery overnite should help diagnose your problem...if it starts rite up with no clicks, check your electrolyte density in the battery.
