I was trouble shooting lack of powersteering on my forklift I aquired last fall, I found that the motor that drives the pump is broke. the magnets are broke. The part number on it is AU-1829-M.

How can I find specs on this motor? it is 36V DC
also can I sub a different motor or is it best to have it rebuilt. Or should I leave it and use the armstrong steering....(it works but little tricky to get in the right spot)

Thanks Paul

Thats what I am thinking, worst case I can tap into mast hydraulics for as much as I use the fork lift

36 volts is a very common voltage in the forklift field. My advice would be to hit some forklift salvage areas and see if you can get one that will work.
If it was mine, I'd find a salvaged motor and pump, get them to fit and then you will have to do a little self-engineering on the hydraulic lines and the wires.
If this a motor actually made by Cat, or is that just a Cat number? My guess is that it's a cat number. If so, see if you can find out the actual manufacturer and go from there.
