Anyone heard of Michi Craft?

I went to an auction today and got a 15' aluminum canoe made by Michi Craft, which is a company I have never heard of before. It is very well made and I am happy to have a canoe again. We had one in Maine but we've been gone nine years. We took it to the reservoir and paddled around for a bit this evening. I'm wondering if anyone in Michigan has heard of the company and knows if the canoes are still made there or if they've been outsourced, and also how long the company has been around. I got the canoe for $120 plus the buyer's premium and sales tax, so it was a good deal. I had expected to get priced out on it, but I guess nobody there wanted it very badly.

An old company, Donno if they're still around. What I remember of their products they were pretty good quality. Thinking they were from Big Rapids, MI, but sure don't quote me on that! Nice products. If yours is in good shape, you got a bargain.
 
Thanks for the reply. The label does say Big Rapids MI on it. The company is still around as I found their web site. I didn't see any kind of a history page so I wondered how old they are. The canoe is in perfect shape but I am guessing it may be a few decades old.

As a Big Rapids resident, I can assure you that they haven"t been made here for a long time, although I don"t know who owns the rights to the name know.
