Does anybody know how to test a mag for fire. Was running just fine, and quit, new points and cond. Any ideas ?

You should hear the impulse click when turning over- it could be broken. Remove the plug wires from the mag, hold your hand over the cap and turn it over- should get more than a mild jolt. If you take the coil out, check for a dead short between the wire and steel on the coil. Short means coil is bad, new is about $65. Mag may need to be re-magnetized if weak.

stand in a puddle barefoot-hold the end of one
wire ! SERIOUSLY, they make a test lite for
spark. There"s usually a vender at antique
tractor and engine shows who sells solinoids
and such, who sells test lites for $5 or $6
