Carb cockshutt 20

Well we will try this post again!!We have a cockshutt 20 fully restored and ready for startup,put some fuel in the tank and noticed it running out of a small hole in the very bottom of the carb and it looks like it was that way from the factory!! any suggestions
 
The only thing I can think of is there is usually a drain under the choke plate. If your float/needle valve are not working properly, it could be overflowing out the main nozzle and going to the drain.
 
yes that could be,, it has a new needle and seat, i will try it again and tap on it as it might have stuck, Thanks for the reply
 
Run the tractor some and if it doesn't stop take the carb back apart the problem could be in the needle valve or the float could have a hole in it or needs adjusting.The hole in the bottom of the carb is to let gas drain out rather than stay in the air intake system.

The main purpose of that hole is to allow condensation to escape. Without it, you would end up with a puddle of water in the bottom of the carb.
