i was graveling a driveway for a customer of mine today and he showed me a round of ammunition that was left on his pickup bumper last light by persons unknown, along with the entire truck being keyed, the round is one i havent seen before it was marked .30 par and the last letter was either a or o, cant make it out, its size leaves me wondering what kind of gun shoots this round, either a large frame pistol or a rifle, were both thinking he was the victim of mistaken identity, he is in his mid 70's and pretty easy going, and his truck a early '90's era ford, cream color, isnt all that unusual, but the round has us courious, anybody know anything about it?

7.65 Parabellum is sometimes called .30 Luger; it's apparently used in various arms. Lots of Google hits.

It's the predecessor of the popular 9mm Parabellum. Used in some German automatic pistols, including the P-08 Parabellum (aka "Luger") and the Walther P-38. Maybe the vandals fancy themselves to be skinheads.

HANG A HUMAN SILOUETTE TARGET WITH THE CENTER BLOWN OUT AND A 12 GAUGE HULL IN THE WINDOW OF THE TRUCK! GIVE THEM A MESSAGE BACK!

Hope you didn't touch it as now your fingerprints are on it instead of the real culprits.

That's too bad. Mistaken identity maybe? Live in a tough neighborhood? That kind of stuff hasn't happened out anywhere near me. Well, I take that back. A couple of years ago my nearest neighbor had his pickup broken into, actually two years in a row. Nothing like that at my place though. Everyone at my place shoots and shoots (practices) often. Not trying to send a signal, but not trying not to either.

Good luck, keep a low profile, they will be back. Maybe tonight.
