new rebuild missing on fire up

the new 8-n motor stars without a problem, but the engine seems to mis-fire. do I have a gasket leak somewhere? it just doesn't idle smooth, and when I give it gas it won't go to full rpm's. do I have somthing set wrong. the carb is straight from rebuild. I have the mix screw and power screw out 1 turn each from the seat. any help from you guy's would be great. you've been so helpfull in the last few days. later trevor

Check your intake manifold to make sure it's tight. I would open the power screw more as this will enrich the fuel mixture. Hal

Might be an ignition timing issue. Do you have the spark plug wires in the correct order?

Did you have the distributor out? My neighbor's 8N wouldn't rev up to full speed and it sounded "labored" at an idle. The distributor was installed 1 tooth out of time.
