belly mower for Farmall A

Hey Farmall A owners.......Will a good running Farmall A handle a 6 foot woods belly mower?...Mowing clover on a slight slope... Have a chance to buy a 5ft or 6ft woods..
Thanks,
Michael

Your better off with a 5 footer over a 6 footer. That gives you more power per foot and that in turn give you more work at a better cost per foot. Over working a machine is bad and can cause lots of problems down the road

I would think an A would swing a 72" OK. My Cub handles a 60" Woods very well. It will walk right thru all but the thickest, toughest grass no problem. In tall stuff I hit it twice, hign then low. 1974 model Cub has had the deck under it since new and still going strong.

The six foot will work fine remember its a finish mower and not a bush hog or hay mower. Set up properly with the blades around 1/2 or so lower in the front will do the best job. Just follow the instructcions and if you dont have a manul get one.
