m Farmall backfired

Fired off on first crank but did not keep running,second try backfire only, 3rd same backfire.It usually fires off on ftrst push of starter.Where do i start troubleshooting? Pogo
 
You probably should bring No1 piston near the radiator to TDC on the compression stroke. Then once you're at TDC on the compression stroke remove the cap and see where your rotor is pointing. Should be at the No1 plug tower. If it's way off something may have jumped timing. Also take a good look at your cap for hairline cracks. Hal
 
Use a clean cotton rag and wipe out the inside of the distributor cap. Probably wet. Blow dry is good, as is a followup spray with silicone to repel water. Jim
