Farmtrac tractors

I was in Texas a few weeks ago and saw a couple of Farmtrac tractors on a dealers yard. I'm not
famillar with the brand. does anyone know anything about this brand? Repair history, parts
availabilty, reliability ect.

They are made in Korea using Ford designs (3000 and 4000 series?). I'm guessing Fiat sold off the assets for that line of Ford tractors. I don't know much about them really, but they look interesting (and affordable). If they haven't changed much parts should be easy enough to find at your nearest Fiat (CaseIH/Ford/New Holland) dealer. If they've changed a lot, you would probably be on your own for parts.
LS Tractors

The Farmtracs were originally built by Long AgriBusiness in India, they were copies of Ford 4600s...Long Bought the tooling of the obsolete models from New Holland then CNH similar to what Kioti used to do with Kubota. A few years ago Long hooked up with LS of Korea and began marketing LS compact tractors as Long Landtracs...Korean build/design with Mitsubishi engines. Both Landtracs and Farmtracs were darn good heavily built tractors that just lacked some of the more modern technology and for the most part utilized small flyby night used tractor jockies for their dealerships. The lack of quality dealer and service support hindered the sales.
A couple years ago there was either a buy out or takeover of Long by another Indian Company...the miled every last penny out of the company then split...leaving owbers and dealers up the proverbial creek sans paddle...no more LongAgriBusiness.
Eventually LS took back the compact line, and it appears now they aquired the Farmtrac line. I f LS stays true to form, they will be a tad technologically challenged, but very well built.
I would say it depends on your dealer: is he set up to support the tractors for parts and service? Does he have factory trained techs?

I thought Farmtrac Corp. went bankrupt.

I believe Montana Tractors bought a large quantity of the Farmtrac crate tractors (the ones based off the old Ford design) at the bankruptcy sale. They are selling them as the 'Limited' series, starting at around $8000 for the 36hp 2wd machine.

As of last winter Montana was pursuing the rights to continue to sell carry them in the US.

They're built in India by Escorts tractor, originally a subsiduary of Ford. It's not independant... but the designs are largely based on the Ford 3600/4600 tractors with some changes.
Farmtrac USA went belly up in late 2008 and it's assets were acquired by Montana tractors... They since consolidated their operations to Tarboro NC; Farmtrac's former headquarters... I assume that they are continuing to support Farmtrac tractors. Google Montana or Farmtrac...

You got it right. And the compact tractor that was sold under Farmtrac was made by LS. Also the tractors over around 75 hp were SAME painted in the Farmtrac colors.

I have a customer that as one. Told me it was the worst tractor he has ever had. Throttle cable keeps breaking under the dash. You have to remove the whole top of the tractor to get the dash cover off. I think it may just catch fire some day soon.
