John Deere 60 PTO

I have a 1954 John Deere 60 with live pto. It recently quit working and the pto housing is contaminated with gear oil from the axle. How big a job is it to replace the seal? Will I have to replace the pto clutches?

Thanks in advance, Keith

You'll definitely need to do the clutch plates, the gear oil burned them up, and I believe replacing the seal requires access to the transmission side of the PTO housing.
