The Roseboom show is show is definatly growing , BUT it will always remain an Intimate show . A lot of close ties and good folkes. The total tractor count for the weekend was 309 tractors give or take a few. Sat. was a great day with lots of people and equipment. Sunday was not a washout! Those of us there had a great time exchanging storys of the past over pancakes and coffee, and travled from tent to tent talking about the good old days, during the morning hours, and yes we had a parade.A large majority of the tractors were driven to the show site and were in their work cloths. There were working displayes and a good time was had by all who attended, inspite of the weather. Jd i'm sorry you feel the way you do; I was looking forward to meeting you there, but I guess there are to many of us rednecks to suit your tastes. I met several other people who post on this forum and it was a pleasure to talk with them. Anyway hope you all enjoy the pics.
PS the last pic is the creator and host of this show. He and his sons put in timless hours to make this show a reality. Many Many thanks to their efforts.

I live just across the border in Pa. Just south of Binghamton. I never knew this show existed. I wonder why it's not in the show directory as it looks like a very good show and nice grounds. Thanks for the pics.

Hi Mt. Man
This show is so far just a bunch of good old boys and gals having fun on a weekend. No structured rules other than leave your display lot the way you found it., there are no comercial venders, churches and such provide the food booths. We have a good time talking and exchanging stories and knowledge. It has been rummered that the local Red Power Asc. want's to attend next year. Sounds like even more fun if that becomes the case. There is ample room and us locals will all help to make next year a sucess if that happens.

Now isn't that the way a show's supposed to be? Glad you all had an enjoyable week end. We sure enjoyed the pics. Keith

I don't have anything against the show. I couldn't go because I was working in the Adirondacks, that's all.

But yes, I liked the show better during the first couple of years in Roseboom. With small shows, I tend to see a lot more "hands on" and innovative type people. Big shows have them of course, but also attract many that just buy something, restored by someone else, just to show off.

From what I've seen around here for past 35 years, real engine guys are tempermental (as I am) and a lot of in-fighting goes on. That's why these shows tend come and go.

My wife helped run the tractor/engine/steam show in Delaware County every year at Hanford Mills Museum in East Meredith, for 15 years. Every year some engine club would get mad and boycott the show, and then another would take its place. This stuff goes around and around. That show finally got ruined beyond repair. Especially when the biggest engine/tractor guy there died (Dan Rion from Prattsville).

A long-time friend of mine was asked to come to the Roseboom show this year to drive one of his former family farm's tractors. He's a retired Otsego County dairy farmer and has been living in Florida for the past 15 years. He still owns 100 acres here and camps here a few months every summer. His farm was once a John Deere dealership. Someone at the Roseboom show has his old Deere 530 and 620, and most years they have him come and drive one of his old tractors in the parade. This year, he went back to Florida a week early.

Last year, there was a tractor magazine writer/reporter at the show. They did a story on my friend and his Deere tractor and boy, they got everything wrong in the story. Can't recall the name of the new magazine, but it was supposed to focus on tractors and their life history, following the tractors from when they were new to where they are now.

So, to be clear - I'm not against big shows. I just have a personal preference for the smaller ones. More fun and more interesting to me. I still go go both when I can.

I attended the show last year, the first I ever heard of it.
I personally thought it was a very "laid back" group of people and a pretty "comfortable" kind of a show.
Lots of tractors right off the farm as well as the totally restored versions.
I could not make it on Sat. this year and I "chickened out" on Sun.
I certainly hope I can make it next year.
Thanks for the great pictures!

Thanks for posting those pictures, great to see the
way it used to be done, between all those belts flapping around or holding the end of a chainsaw
safety has sure improved.

Looks like y'all had a good time!

Loved the variety of chain saws on display.

Obviously some equipment I've never seen before.

Recognized a few of the green/yellow tractors.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us; really enjoyed them.

Fabulous show.I know a ton of work goes into this, not only on show weekend ,but all year long.
There is a great deal of support from the whole community. It's a gathering of a great bunch of people having a REALLY GREAT TIME.
