Computer guy came down to help me with a problem. Had a T shirt with giant letters "RTFM"

Below it in real small print was "read the f!"§$%ng manual"

Figure someone with baler problems made that shirt and retired

when i was still building puters for folks, some of the denser people would bring one in for service...99% of the time there was nothing wrong with it...i'd put I D ten T error on work order and that satisfied most of them.
change the center 3 letters to their numerical state.

I did IT consulting for a k-12 school district for 7 years. My most frequent notation was PEBKAC.

Problem Exists Between Keyboard And Chair...

My son's work-study job was as the call-in help guy for the network at the college he went to. He did very well at it, and admitted that he owed his success to the training he got from helping me. Mainly, that the help guy should never assume the caller knows ANYTHING beyond how to turn it on.

I told him I was glad I could help.

My computer guru used a word one time in an email.

It was "PICNIC" (not to be confused with the photo system I use)

I sak him what that meant ? He said

" Problem In Chair, Not In Computer" :>(

I"ve been doing IT for 25 years. Even assuming they can turn it on is a mistake as I"ve run across some who can"t. When you tell them to turn the PC off and then back on and they say they still have the same thing on the monitor you know they just turned the screen off and on which accomplishes nothing.
