4WD Tire Combinations

I have a MFWD 7085 Deutz-Allis that I use for spraying. It has 18.4x34 rear tires and 13.6x24 front tires (that I just replaced). I would like to put as narrow a tire on the rear, to match the front tire width, as I can and not change the ratio to the front tires. And,if I could, use the same dish and maybe use the 18.4's as duals when needed. Any suggestions?

Do a google search for tractor tire rolling circumference. There are some good online guide books by firestone and goodyear about matching sizes on MFWD tractors. You need to be about +or- 1% on circumference.

See if this link helps.

I did check with my dealer and the manual - 16.9x34 is an option but it would only reduce my width about 1.5 inches and would still be about 3.5 inches wider than the front tires, with 8 inch drilled beans I would still be takeing out 2 rows, might as well leave it were it is. Didn't know if anybody else had done anything like this before. From looking at the charts, a 14.9/38 should work - overall diameter and the rolling circumference would only change by about an inch - but I would have to get different rims and lose the option of using my current tires as duals. Thanks for all of the input, I am new to this forum.
