Bosch starter??

Anyone in a position to look up parts for a bosch starter if I give you the numbers off of it? The deal is, even though I'm in the land of Bosch (spark plugs and some starter parts are made 10 miles away), I can only get a complete starter for my tractor (tune of 500 bucks).
My starter doesn't kick in all the time and will prolly leave me stranded sooner or later and I can't do without my tractor for more than a couple days. Anyway, someone just gave me a starter they had laying around. It bench tests good, but if I could rebuild it and have a new starter on hand, that would be just peachy. Any help would be appreciated. Just tell me the numbers you need.

Thanks, Dave

Post the numbers! It removes one step!! Model and year of tractor is also important. Was the used starter also bad that we discussed the other day? Jim

Different starter. The one the other day was the one on the tractor now. Since my GP's are working fine, the tractor starts right away. just doesn't kick right in every time.

Which Numbers, and what tractor?? Kicking in is often either a drive, or short brushes.. Easy to fix. Jim

German made farmall. DD-111 diesel engine. I'm at work now and will have to post numbers tomorrow. Are the numbers stamped in the body enough? The number for the assembly from the parts manual is
711 104 R91

Dave its unfortunate there are allot of Bosch starters that are all most imposable to get parts or rebuild kits for, and some that are a dealer item only. But there are hillbillies like me out there that will try anything to keep from spending $900 for a starter. I found a Hi-Tork starter for a Cat that fit my tractor just fine and cranks over fast now, and it was only $230 brand new not rebuilt. If you look on ebay for starts I think you will find a starter that will fit your tractor alot cheaper than $500, click on one and look for all the engines it fits. Who knows it may be the same one I put on mine. Bandit
