Pony tractor, non starting

Hi, success this afternoon. Posted a message a couple of weeks ago that Pony tractor that was a trade could not get the machine to start. Received a lot of good information as I had to make a new wiring harness and did not have a lot of confidence in myself on this project. Starting the tractor was one of those times where you require three hands. Friend helping me this afternoon, made adjustments to the distributor/timing while the engine was turning over and is now running quite smoothly. This is truly a basket case , hopefully will win the battle. cheers, Murray
 
Thanks for the update, often people just fix and run. we always need to know what it took to fix an issue. The general level of knowledge is thus raised!! Jim
 
Hi Jim, Thanks for your advice, during the frustrating time,when everything appeared to be going the wrong direction. Now that it is running I sort of look back and smile, it was fun and enjoyable. This tractor is in a sad state of repair, friend of mine in his eighties will be invited to come and participate in bring the old tractor back to another new life. Cheers, Murray
