starter ???

Hey folks,
I just picked up a used starter for my tractor today. Mine works and this one bench tests. Parts manual only shows a complete (500 buck) starter for my tractor. This is a Bosch starter. Think It's possible to rebuild it based on numbers or measuremants?

if it bench tests, put it on the shelf, or (if to be sure, put it on the tractor. Either way I would not rebuild it (a 40.00US proposition if you do it) unless it needs it. Endframe bearings or bushings, thrust washers and brushes would be less than that. A starter drive would push the total to near 60, but Bosch equipment is usually reliable. My point is that they are easy to swap out, so unless it is non-functional, I would put it away for a reserve. Jim
