Plymouth wheel lug bolt pattern.

Looking for someone that knows what the bolt pattern is on a 1940 plymouth. I did a search on the internet and couldnt find anything that far back. I know its 5 lug but is it 5 on 4 1/2 or something else. Car isnt here for me to measure the bolt spacings.
THanks
Ryan

Tom is correct; 4-1/2" bolt circle.
Same as most Ford cars since "49, most all American Motors as well as most Mopars up into the 80s at least.

On my 48 Plymouth I put Ford aluminum wheels. I did have to polish out a few thousandths from the bore and all was well. Tractor related...I traded the use of the MF-35 for one day for the wheels and nice tires. ohfred

I bought a new 1954 Plymouth in 1953 when I was in the Army. It probably had the same bolt pattern as your Plymouth, but it had 15-inch tires. Got pretty good gas mileage traveling between Ft Bragg NC and MD even though gas was only 20 cents a gallon. Hal

I have some 40 plymouth wheels on my Log hauler. They had the 40 hub caps on them. They measure 4 1/2 inch; This measurement is taken across 3 lugs.Ford wheels with fit thru 48 or so.
