sticking clutch on leyland

Clutch doesn't disengage after sitting. To break it loose I tried it in gear at an idle with the bucket buried. The rear tires dug holes until I killed the engine. Latter on it worked normally. What's going on?
Mid 70s Leyland 270 withe a live PTO.

That happens quite often in a tractor that is not used much, Block the clutch down to disengage it when you are not using it. you probably ought to block the wheels
