i need help with my cockshutt 40

your probably going to loose the live pto. With the tube frame its possible, however there are combine engins that will bolt up. Gleaner combines. cockshutt 50 will also fit. Lots of parts cockshutts in canada

yea i have a 262 combine motor but the promblem is that u cant go bigger there is not enough space between cylinders to bore and i need to go bigger so i was wondering how u can or how hard would it be to hook up to ur input shaft

back in the 1950 era my dad found that the 6b230 was rated at 85 hp turing almost 3000 rpm. He turned up a 53 co-op 40 to 2400. It liver well was traded in 1960 with no holes in block!!!

if anyone knows anyone or anything about putting a 292 chevy motor in a cockshutt please give me a number to get a hold of them right now im in a pickle i dont know anything about it and i would like to ge get it out of my garage and on the track

i just want to know how hard or if it is possible to put a 292 chevy motor out of a combine in a cockshutt 40 and the steps to do it

I'd say its going to be pretty difficult especically if you want the LPTO shaft hooked up.
You'll have to make engine mounts and height has to be exactly right.Getting the AC 262 fit right is hard enough

Anything is possible. How much time, money and machine shop access do you have?
Why are you in such a pickle over this proposed project?

what is this everything for a 230 buta i would like to know if u can put a 292 chevy motor in a cockshutt 40 i trying to find someone that has done that or knows something about that

really i have a 262 motor right now that i started building but found out u cant go any bigger and i would like something to be really competive so i figured i would check in to a 292 because u can use automotive parts which means cheaper but everyone told me those 262 bolt right in

We can't read your mind nor see your traction and how it's used. It's starting to appear you are running a puller tractor and you are looking for cheap easy HP in a hurry.
To be legal you need to keep the Buda.
For swapping a larger Alice Chalmers or larger six cylinder Buda would likely work.
The classic hot rodding tricks work even on the Buda 230. More compression, larger valves, ported heads and a cam re-ground by Berry Cam's.

how far can bore a buta motor can u get it bigger then a 262 and that cam shop u r telling me about r they good on cockshutts

It bolts in an if you have the 262 apart then you'll be fine other wise to change front plates you need to pull the camshaft.A 273 out of a 50
will with boring get you around 300 cubes but you need the latest style head with the water pump on the block 230 also. Then you could go with the 339 Hercules if you have access to a parts 570.

You can't bore a 230 or 262 since they have wet sleeves and be careful about the cam work on an engine run close to stock RPM its a waste of $$$ most of the time.I've had a stock cam 262,230 and 273 Budas that would easily run over 3000 RPM

BUDA was purchased by Allis Chalmers in 1953
and became an Allis Chalmers Division, because
they needed big diesel engines for their heavy
equipment..most gas engines after that, such as
in Gleaner combines were from the "Buda" family.
