Our son was checking his soybeans this morning and decided to take down a tree stand and bring it home.
something broke and he fell 15 feet and broke his arm and his back. Prognosis is good but he is going to be laid up for three months. We will get his farm work done with some very good friends help, but he will be out of work for the SC forestry commission for 3 months. Please pray for a speedy recovery for him. Thanks, Richard

You have prayers from here for your strength to do what you have to do, and for him for quick recovery.

Just wanted to add that make sure you get a good doctor. As i had a friend that fell from the hay loft pushing a bale off it to feed and fell and broke his back. First doctor did a good job and he went back to work and sat down in his chair and fell and broke it again. the second doctor droped a drop of the stuff they were fussing the vertabre back together with on his spinal cord and almost paralized him. So be sure you always get a good doctor for him so he doesnt end up like Mike

Everything will work out fine I'm sure. Neighbor is 73 and fell off a ladder in early spring and broke his back. Is combining as I type and has been doing light stuff the last couple months with a back brace.

Praying all goes well, had a guy painting the corn crib roof and fell off and landed up against the hog house, he got up, and went back up!

Thanks for all your prayers and support. The fellow that was with him ran to get help since they had no cell phone service where they were. The ambulance that came first to get our son, had to take the other fellow to the hospital for heat exhaustion after they airlifted our son to a larger hospital from the bean field.

My son is a state trooper in SC and also farms, raising soybeans and fescue. He also has about 10 deer stands around Lancaster County and I hate to see him out there alone working on deer stands and food plots with no cell phone signals.

Praying for complete recovery. Wish him well from both of us, please.

I am against tree stands.I know 2 fellows who fell out of them and are in wheel chairs.Talked with a fellow who fell 30 feet ,landed on his head.Clip flew out of his rifle.Another guy was letting his rifle down on a rope,it went off and killed him.Simple to build a brush ground blind with a good seat.Falling asleep causes most falls.

That's gotta hurt! He has my prayers. Hope he doesn't have any long lasting problems with the back.

I took a pretty decent tumble once and woke up in the hospital three days later while they were finishing up the cast on my arm. Don't remember much about the whole week after that. Jim

hope he heals fast and the doc does the right thing. he will be in our thoughts and prayers.
