Heartbroken.
Found the perfect tractor, emailed about it. Was told that it was reserved but if I show up with X bucks, I can take it home. 200 miles away so I had to wait til the coming weekend. Checked today to verify and it was sold.

Everything happens for a reason though. Maybe something is going to turn up local.

I was told once that a tractor was being held for a guy while he looked and decided on another tractor.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me a couple years ago. So I went ahead and ordered a new one from a different dealer. Three weeks later, right before the new one was due in, I went by the first dealer and the tractor was still sitting there. They said the buyer couldn't get the money together. They missed the boat as I took the new one I ordered.

The positive side is that it gives me time to think and put tractor money together. This would have been bought from money earmarked for something else.
Really like my little tractor and the only hangup is the 1.65 meter drun mower (weight). Maybe I'll just get a smaller mower and keep my jewel, remount the front loader and be happy.

I would rather be told that they were holding it for someone else than to have them sell it when they are supposed to be holding it for me :)

Had the same thing happen to me. I eventually gave up, bought a new Kubota, zero % financing made it easy. And I got what I wanted. Life is short.

I thought I warned you those mowers are heavy! This year, I snapped a front spindle on my D-12 (III) Allis Chalmers. Lucky me, the D-10 had a flat rear tire, so I stole a spindle off'n that to tide me over for the first cutting (80 4x4 round bales). Good thing I got that many on the first cut, we been so dry, where I got 20 on the first cut, today I got 5 for the second cut, and 2 of them were foxtail from a wet spot that I didn't cut earlier. Don't worry, your tractor will find you, take the back roads, and one will call out to you!
