Craigslist ad

Took awhile, but I got it! That is funny-just think about it! How are they going to see it, let alone call...!

What is funny about it?

The Amish typically don't use the Internet, but if someone should tell them about the ad they'd probably respond via phone, as many can do business with phones but not otherwise use them.

Well just have to believe he has a easy sense of humor I guess. Just think about how hard it would be for someone to tell the person where to get in contact with them.

I know I'm just roaring with laughter, aren't you?!!!!!

I fail to find the humor in it. Someone who knows of an Amish crew, perhaps one they have used in the past, could forward their information and act as a broker for the situation.

There has been a guy put'n add on the local craigslist every week or so looking for info as to how to find an Amish guy to shoe horses. He put a little more thought into his wording than this guy did.

The sect of Amish that we have locally don't use phones, and they don't even like to have others call on their behalf. Our local Mennonites have phones, but they don't build barns that I have ever heard about. I guess you're right, it doesn't take much to amuse me.

I failed to find the humor in it too and that is why I pointed out that learning of the ad and responding is not that far fetched, but you had asked as though you didn't understand the initial thought.

Can't be any stranger than the poster on our local library bulletin board offering reading and writing classes for people that don't speak English. Why would they be in the library, and how could they read the bulletin?

Guess it is for word of mouth.

I like the sign I saw (I think at Burger King) that said

PICTURE MENU AVAILABLE

And I thought , if you need a picture menu, would the sign do any good?

In Japan the picture menu (at McDonald's) is on the counter where you can order by pointing. Very helpful my first trip there.
