Matt -
for my corn patch I just let my boys shoot em with a .22 Old fella down the road would pay $5.00 each skinned out but 1 paw was to be still attached. Reason for the paw was apparently folks were slipping cats in on him.

Just starting a communitiy garden locally and the gal running it has a really good fence design. Regual upright with electric fence then from top of posts sloping away from garden at angle out to 8' will be more will be electric wire on PVC pipe.

Wires will be spaced so coons and armadillos will bump into it and next strands high enough to prevent them from crossing thru or jumping over. Side benefit is it will deter deer from jumping over as fence will extend away from garden.

this fur buyer is blind ????? needs to have foot attached to tell difference between cat and coon ?

Jim, I believe that old man was eating those dressed coons not buying fur. Skinned cat might look like a skinned coon

I am going to trap the heck out of them this winter, and try a better fence next year. I have heard its tougher to keep them out once they have had a taste, I'll get it up earlier next year. That fly bait deal mentioned in the other thread is tempting, but I don't want to kill anything on accident that isn't a coon.

Worked on harvesting oats in the back field, yesterday and the day before. Chased three out of my field. Gonna carry something goes bang from now on in that field! Sweetcorn by the house and adjacent to the sheep/llama pasture hasn"t benn hit yet - Knock on Wood!

Just what I was thinking!!!

It's common to leave one foot on a skinned carcase for the buyer to see.

Not blind but some folks being dishonest. This fella eats them as BBQ and apprently dressed cats and dressed coons look alike.

Cant say for sure as the only cats I have skinned are bobcats not house cats. If you have never skinned a bobcat be prepared to GAGut these are the nastiest things I have ever skinned.

Matt is 100% right, the old fella and his family eat them as BBQ. See my comments above.
