Anyone have any info on this tractor? Has a three cylinder perkins engine. Type 255-8 s serial G238076. Thinking about buying to mow with.
 
Don't know the Massy but the Allis 160 was built in France by Renault with a 3 cyl. Perkins. They are a fine tractor and that Perkins is the best!
 
Dave, that is my concern about the tractor, external_link lists the production years to be 1974 thru 1981 all have 4cylinder perkins. The front grill is different also, lights on the bottom not in the center. The serial num. should start out 9A******, instead of G238076. Might just pass on this one.

They have really good reverse gears :roll:
 
Thanks for the info, I wish I could put a date to this tractor, seller claims 1958(is that even possible?). The fenders are similar to the ones on my 1953 golden jubilee, not the squared off type seen on external_link. The rest of the sheet metal looks exactly like 1974 and newer.
 
There were two models made in France that I know of, the 25 and the 130. I had a 130, wouldn't wish it on anyone. Serial numbers don't always reflect an accurate model number- are there any numbers decals on the tractor itself?
 
I’ve been doing more digging, I think this tractor is a 254s with 255 decals. The fenders, grill and 3 cylinder Perkins all match with this tractor.
