Narrowed my tractor search to 5 tractors (models). ???'s now

OK Folks,
Decided that there is only one brand of tractor that will let me drive it.
There is 5 IHC's that share the same motor (3 cyl diesel D-155 2.5 liter). Of the 4 models in my price range, all have the same trans. 2 (353 and 383) are rated for 34 and 35 HP @1900 rpm
One (423) 40 HP @ 1900 rpm and 1 (453) 45 HP @ 2200 rpm
2 questions
1) someone said that the lesser 2 had a different injector pump than the bigger 2. Would that make it so easy as replacing the pump and gaining HP?

2) With the bigger 2, would the 300 rpm make the 5HP difference? Ie. if I bought a 40HP 423 and needed a little extra power, would just increasing RPM's take care of me?

Decided on these models in particular because I like the looks of them, dealer, garage, and parts counter 6 miles away, they are only 4 inches wider and 2 inches longer than what I have now, and there are a bunch of them in my area (just have to find one for sale  )
Normal life of this size tractor in this area is mowing around fields, moving/spreading manure, heaviest weight on the loader is a <800 pound round bale, moving firewood, and doing hay work. Under roof when not in use and most have cabs. Got the advise on checking things out if it has a loader, but is there a way to check the clutch that is halfway dependable?

Thanks,

Dave

Don't know about the clutch in those tractors, but I would try for the one with the most hp. You can do a small job with a big tractor but not a big job with a small tractor.
