Alternate Rear Tire Size?

Hi all,
I have rear tires on a Case 630 that each have a lot of cord showing on each on the sidewalls. It has been suggested to me that they be replaced. I only use the tractor 10 times a year.

So a 2 part question;
1. Given that I use it rarely, are new tires really needed?

2. The tires I have are Goodyear, 13.6/36. The tires say its on a 12 inch rim RATING: 12 x 36. I cant find any used 13.6/36 tires anywhere. Is there an alternate size I can use, and if so, what size would work? Sorry if thats a real dumb question. :)
 
No. 1, if they hold up you can get by till you have a flat and then you are sunk.

No 2, any 36" tire is impossible to find used as they are destroyed before being replaced, only option is buying new.
 
Miller tire has 13.6/36 for $450 a piece. 13.6 is the proper width for a 12 in rim, You might be able to use a 14.9 if they make them (miller does not have any 14.9/36)

Answer to part 1:
Where do you want to change the tire?
In your shop or driveway, or
back in the woods - alongside the pond - fill in your own worst case
 
13.6x36 was the standard tire on farmall 340s, jd 2010 and early 3010s. they aren't real common, as you are finding.
the other 36"s would be 12.4x36- still not very many around but probably more than the 13.6s.
the 11.2x36s fit many super c/200/240 farmalls. the 11.2 is noticeably smaller than the 12.4, which in turn is noticeably smaller than the 13.6x36.

i would suggest considering a pair of used 12.4s if you can find them, although the tractor will sit lower and likely have less traction (smaller footprint). another option might be to scour the parts yards for a case 630 with 34"? or 38" wheels and buy the wheels and rims used. it might be cheaper than new 13.6s.
