JD Thresher

My father recently purchased a 1947 JD Thresher. We have been searching for more info on it. Such as sales lit and publications, operating and service manuals, photos. The thresher sits on rubber wheels rather than steel. And is also painted factory green unlike the galvanized earlier models. If anyone can point us in the right direction that would be a tremendous help. Thank you.

Likely the PARTS catalog is available to view or download for FREE at jdparts.com.

An operator's manual can be had by calling DEERE Techpubs @ 1-800-522-7448.

Thank you Bob. We searched JD at first and weren't able to find anything on it. Maybe you know of a place to find pictures or old sales literature? We are trying to acquire as much info on it as possible.

You know what, I didn't even think of it before but now I've about got myself convinced I have an original brochure of the threshers, trouble is, I don't have my assorted literature collection at ALL organized. I'll take a look tomorrow at the farmhouse in one area where I can imagine it being.

I have a friend with TONS of DEERE memorabilia, if I see him tomorrow I'll ask him as well. If the request piques his interest at all I'll bet he can come up with some information. We'll see.

If he or I can find something we could get it scanned or copied for you.

Also, watch ebay.

Here's a couple of examples of what's on there now:

Auction #370413506593... 1937 John Deere Power Farming FULL LINE NEW reprint. "John Deere Thresher: Six Reasons Why It’s a Better Thresher Value."

Auction #150471367817... JOHN DEERE 1991 PARTS EXPO FINE PEWTER Model THRESHER.
