farmall 656 and 806

I have a 806 diesel tractor with the TA trans. But the main gearbox is out..... broken gears and such. Will the trans out of a 656 diesel fit? The 656 does not have the TA. Thanks

The 656 is near the end of the line for the transmission that came out in 1939. The 706/806 were the start of a completely different transmission.

Grandpa had a 656 and Uncle Mike had a 706. The transmission on the 706 was much advanced...when you could get it to shift!:^)

Well that answers my question. Now does anyone know where i could get a good trans. for my 806?
