I remember the big ol" New Holland Balers with the V Twin and V-4 Wisconsins when I was a kid working for local farmers in the 50s.
What I don"t remember, is the balers having left hand pickups like the "46 NH in the video.
Were there many LH pickups back in the old days?
When did the RH pickup become the norm?

Neat. Didn't know those old NH's could be had left hand feed like that. Could you get them either side or did they make them lefty for a time then switch to right side?

The owner of the baler said left hand feed on that baler, was designed to do straw. It was the only baler that NH made that way.

These are really neat, Does any one have a old Case Hand tie of the 50 era.My wife and I did a lot of custom baling with one of them when first married. She drove the tractor (Oliver 60 with one of Oliver torsion seat) I run the needle gun (dirty job). Hired a boy at 1 cent a bale to to stick wires back to me.

Hi Gitrib,
No none mentioned a Case baler there.
But if it comes up...we will shout!
How many bales did you do a day with the Case? That is dirty work for sure!
