O.K. Guys I know someone here knows. Need to pull the engine from a 743 Bobcat.. Kubota 1903 4 cyl..After I remove electrical connections, raidiator hoses, throttle , and fuel line conections. The motor mounts but what about the rear connection to drive pump. Will the pump stay in place and if so is it just slid out a spline connection or is there drive plate bolts. Anybody ever been there.. Thanks Jerry
Trying to make this easy, or just dreaming?

Was the engine changed at some point? 743's came with a V-1702 engine. I'm not positive but I think there may be a double U-joint connecting the engine to the hydro pumps. If it's anything like my Thomas with a V-1902, there is a big plate bolted to the engine flywheel that the double u-joint is attached to. Dave

Dave you may be righ, I stuck my head up in there and could not really read the numbers. and I know what you are saying about the rear but This really looks blind looking from the engine, can,t see how to get to the u joints or shaft WITHOUT the engine moving first.. Guess we will just start and see what happens.

I'm not sure if the cab tilts forward on a 743 or not. I'd talk to a Bobcat dealer. 743's were the most popular skid steer ever made. Dave

Slides off the splines. Takes 2 people to get it back on. One to hold the double u-joints and one to push the engine back in.

The 743 cab will tilt backwards giving access to the pump coupler. The engine will slide out the back but you will need a hoist to raise it over the back engine door threshold lip. The engine can be replaced by one person using balin' wire to position the pump coupler sleeve.
