WHERE IS THE EGR VALVE ON THIS TYPE OF MOTOR
BEEN WANTING TO STALL GOING DOWN THE ROAD WITH A LOAD ON. MECH SAID EGR VALVE MAYBE STICKING.

If it was the egr valve it wouldn't idle or run with no load, and check engine light would be on.if the check engine light was on and you continued to run it it probably has gone into derate mode. You need to have the truck put on a diagnostic scanner(not a hand held) to see what codes it is throwing, a handheld scanner will not clear the hard codes. You could be picking up water, clogged fuel filter, vanes are stuck on the turbo, crank sensor,or a multitude of other problems.

Yes and no. The EGR is the round thing behind the air inlet from the intercooler. You can carefully pull it out and look to see if it's stuck open. Carefully pull it straight up. A small rolling head prybar is what I use under the mounting ears. A partially open valve will cut power and make it smoke black. Open too far will cause stalling. A valve that hangs up will typically cause no response when hitting the throttle for a moment followed by a bunch of black smoke. Stuck vanes in the turbo will do a couple different things. Stuck closed will make it pull away from a stop ok, but will lose a bunch of power typically from 40mph and up. Stuck partially open is the bad one. It might be a bit soggy down low, but the vanes being open enough to allow high speed operation will over boost the engine and can blow (usually does) the head gaskets. Stuck completely open just lacks power all the time. There is no derate mode in the 6.0L programming. That didn't appear until the 6.4.
Engine stalling can also be the DC to DC converter in the FICM. It used to be replace the whole unit when that happens. Now Ford is offering each board (there are 2) to repair them. Very unlikely the crank (CKP) or cam (CMP) sensors have a problem. The most common issue with the CKP and CMP is usually on start up. The tone ring on the crank can loosen over time and cause intermittant no start or hard start. MSM is right about taking it to someone who knows them.
