Legal way to break the law

Buy A crotch rocket. Pros for purchase.
Nothing on the road can catch you,
o to 60 amazing,
Makes you invincible to traffic because narrow built and you can maneuver them around almost anything as long as you keep up momentum.
Cons,
causes brin damage the instant you get on one,
makes you believe it wont run on two wheels.
also don't run well if going less than a hundred mile an hour.

My belief is if these things are Legal why don't Dale Earnhardt drive his #88 to the races? It is built much safer .

Saw a couple lately that drivers have helmet cams, would be interesting for the police to see just what is in that tape if they could catch one ..

A coworker of mine out ran a cop on one a few years ago. He hid in a corn field for a while till the cops passed back and forth a few times. Then he went home. (Lucky)

The human body gets very mangled after a crash on a bike, but at speeds over 100mph....no open casket on that funeral.

That are less common here in the cold rural areas of Minnesota, but a fella ran one into the back of a truck around here last year.

People like freedoms, I'm one of them.

With freedom comes some responsibility & need for common sense, seems to be a shortage of that.

Back in the 50s there was a bike that was out lawed in the U.S. because it was so fast nothing other then another one of them could catch it. Sure wish I owned one of them since there where a few around. Bet you can not name which bike I'm talking about

Triumph Bonneville ? or did they just succumb to Norton ?

I did Google for fastest bike then came up with a Vincent --- Never heard of them.

im thinking it was one of the nortons, i remember some article about them and their being so fast for the day they couldnt be caught by anything else

Had a guy get killed around here about a month or so ago. Was goin over 120 MPH in a 35 MPH zone, no helmet, and T-boned a car. My wife used to work with his girlfriend (last year) and he left behind a 6 or 9 month old daughter. They were planning to get married too....

Round here there are too many Barney Fifes

no road block would be set up on such short notice.
Only way to catch them may be with camera on a speed trap set up, and fine them later and charge em with attempted homicide by vehicle -- they are out to kill someone might, be one of our family here on the forum .

I have no problem with thrill seekers and glad they enjoy their (High ) they get from it .

just don't do it where I'm driving or where innocent bystanders could go down with you.

and the careless speed for how they run can't be matched with any police car and will defiantly out maneuver one. Only way is to pursue till someone gets killed . (not good common sense)

OOOOOooooohhhh Thats messy !!

I feel for his family , they will get done grieving though .

I feel really bad for the truck driver, as every time he goes out and looks in the mirror he will think of that accident and relive that many times in his career.

There is a whole industry built up around providing skilled nursing care for brain injured people. I have read that a very high proportion of the residents of these homes got hurt on motorcycles.

A co-worker's brother bought himself a new one and so did a couple of his buddies. They went riding on the interstate and decided to just let 'em rip for a while. After about twenty minutes or so they stopped at a rest area for a smoke break. The cops caught up to them just as they were about get the bikes started again. Cops said they had been chasing after them for the last fifteen minutes! The guys never even knew that they were being chased (obviously)! Dang cigs will getcha' one way or 'nother lol

I had the neighbor kids up to 150 mph and it was still pullin. I asked what it topped out at he said about 168.
Sure looks weird to see him go by wheelin a crotch rocket. He says at 90 when you set the front wheel down it has begun to slow down and the front end really shutters to the wheel gets back up to speed. Mark

I'm just wondering ... how long before they make them only go so fast ... basely that's what they did to most cars ...

Just my thoughts ... Mark

My brother has three if them... CBR600, CBR900 Turbo and the Haybusa 1300.
The last two top out somewhere around 200 MPH (330 Km/h)..
Many, many times he has outrun the law. Plate flap is helpfull as well.
He's also had a couple dumps with them but so far has walked away.

Yep Vincent Black shadow back in the day they would do well over 150mph and the saying was no one could hold on to one to top speed since they where clocked out so fast so they got out lawed in the U.s, because no cop car could catch them

Vincent Black Shadow back in there day they where the fastest thing on 2 or 4 wheels and no other machine could go as fast or catch them off the line and that is way they where not let on the roads after the first few where imported. Sure wish I owned one because they are in the $100,000 plus class today

Way back when I was well lets just say young I had a Yamaha 500 4 valve 2 cylinder and I was clocked at 145 but I backed it down because at 145 the front end started to get a wobble and I figure at that speed it might hurt a tad bit if I hit the pavement. Sure was one fast scoot

Yep fastest thing on 2 or 4 wheels back in the 50s and it was said no one could hold on and take one up to top speed. Sure wish I owned one since they are in the $100,000 plus class

Two weeks ago a couple croch rockets came through out small town at appro 75 mph. The cops were at about the same speed chasing them. The cop charger gave them a good run untill another cop car ended up in the middle.

There was construction on twenty some miles of this chase, and up to 148 mph. That makes it cost double.

Mom and dad posted the bond in only a few hrs. The bikes had flip plates on them, so it probably wasn't the first time they were looking for attention.

We have lots of deer in NE IA, and if they had smucked one at that speed, the deer probably would have had the same chances of survival.

If I understand correctly the total miles were thirty some, and a total time frame of 14 min. from the dispatch log. Considering the road construction, going through two towns, and the very heavy truck traffic, they were asking for a death wish.

If there would have been a head on crash with a car, the windshild probably would not have stopped the simple minds from coming on through.

Cops can not place stop sticks, and they must provide a way out in a road block. Seems to me a five galon bucket of diesel fuel dumped on a black top road curve would have saved court costs.

We have at least 2 laydowns and a ditching every year of bikes on this crappy corner above my house. Poorly maintained and always loose gravel.
Usually 2 of the 3 are crotch rockets that think nothing can stop them. Think again! I'll stick with my F-150 thanks.

Used to see one screaming by my girl's place when I would go and cut her grass. He was best friend's with the her next door neighbor's teenage son. Met the neghbor's son one day in his car & thought it would be fun to play chicken. Screaming on a crotch rocket and playing chicken cost two best friends their lives & left two family's in shambles.

Bikes are fun when you're young enough to enjoy them, but sooner or later you're gonna get hurt or killed. Crotch rocket's just speed up the process.

Crotch rockets are like guns. Guns don't kill people and neither do crotch rockets. With an experienced rider a crotch rocket will out handle just about any other vehicle on the road. Same as a Ferrari or Lamborghini. The big problem comes when inexperienced riders buy them that could barely ride a moped safe let alone the fastest accelerating street legal vehicle on the road. A lot of M/C dealers are also to blame for selling them to inexperienced riders. Unlike an exotic car, crotch rockets are relatively affordable and in plentiful supply. A Huyabusa can go 180 MPH but only needs first gear to break the speed limit on the highway. A lot of people buy these kinds of bikes just to show off and often get seriously injured doing the same thing. I'm sure a Gold Wing will do well over 100 MPH but you don't hear of too many accidents involving them. Dave

"Crotch rocket's just speed up the process."

Hence the name "organ donor machines"!

just last summer 2 off duty ohio highway patrolman was nabbed at over 140 on a busy interstate,...yea they'll get ya....

A different group of people ride GoldWings...
This fella buys them to go fast. I don't think he ever cared if he had an audience... Just himself and his buddy on a 750 Ninja.
They used to do from here you Sydney in 8 minutes. That's 30-35 minutes by car/truck and 'I' don't drive slow either.... but they just like speed.
As far as I'm concerned I don't see why the QC's even bother with them. They can't catch them and if they do chase them they're only endangering someone else. The bikes aren't really bothering anyone because most times they're gone past so fast most don't even notice... and if they hit a deer or pole or ditch... that's their problem. They knew the risks when they started. I've never bothered with bikes myself. I prefer to be on 4 wheels most of the time... but to each their own.

Had a kid in my motor pool section had a rocket. Hit the back of a Cady one night. In the back window and out the front. I don't think he even knew what he hit.
