My three daughters. my son & son one law took me for two reunions at Waterloo. Man is the corn great. visit and located graves going back three generation. Found all of the family home including including the one I built for my bride some sixty years ago.
Had a extra side trip and got see Big Bud. Got a phone call as we were leaving my wife was going from the nursing home to the hospital. Son pulled the Fuzz Buster out and told those in the second car to get ready to fly. Waterloo Iowa to Cushing. Oklahoma in 11 hours. Yeah I know drive safely. But Mom was all alone.

Pictures will follow.

Sounds like a great trip. When we get older the past becomes more important. Good that the youngones could be with you and enjoy the adventure into the past, and you could enjoy the thrill of flying low with the kids and the fuzzbuster. I bet you can remember flying low in that great old car you had back in "the good old Days"

Sure hope everything turns ok at home. I know how it is to connect with family memories. My brother and I spent an afternoon wandering thru the woods looking for our grandfathers homestead. Finally found it, but had to answer a few questions from a state cop when we got back to his truck. I still have a brick from the foundation.

The best to you and your wife, hope she is OK. I was born and raised 3 miles north of Waterloo and moved out here 25 years ago.

Hope all goes well. I was born in Belmond, raised in Denver and still have family in Cedar Falls. We get up their several times a year and make a point to get up their when the sweet corn comes on. I've also been known to have a case shipped to Houston. They don't know what good corn is here.
