Re-Wireing The C

Hey guys...

Well, I just got done painting my C, after countless hours of sandblasting, and once the paint dries, I will have to rewire the thing, and get it running.

I have a really nice magneto that was given to me, and so I plan to use that. I also have a 12v alternator, and the the original, working starter.

And so, I now have to figure out how everything here goes together.

Does anyone have a wireing diagram for one of these things? I've never wired a tractor before, is there anything I should know??

How does one mount a non orignal alternator on an old allis c?

Thanks everyone...

You will have to make the mounting bracket for the Alt but it will startand run fine with the original gen system and save you messing around. If you read this page everyday almost there are questions on how do i maje the Alt work. Those old systems work fine just do it like it was when new.

I second gene's thought. It ran well and started well on 6v originally, no reason it shouldn't now.

To get it running all you need is the wires coming from the mag to the spark plugs and the battery cable from the battery to the starter and a ground for the battery. After you get it running and decide you really want to add an alterantor then you can wire it up. No point in adding confusion before you get it running.
