Just wondering if anyone can help me when I start my tractor its starts rev real hard even with no throttle. I tried to retard the distributor to slow it down but, when l give it full throttle and put it in gear she goes to die. Take it out of gear and she starts to rev real hard again.

Are you the same guy who was asking about adjusting the distributor because of an idling problem? Leave the distributor alone and look at your governor and carburetor. Sounds like maybe the governor is not connected.

THE DISTRIBUTER DOES NOT CONTROL SPEED!!!!!! You have posted here earlier. You need to get a service manual and check the linkage adjustments on the Governor/carburetor linkage. You are going to get it so far out of time that it will not start. Also it can run off too fast and you can destroy the motor. If you throw a rod out the block it will cost more than the tractor is worth to fix it. SO EITHER GET A manual or have someone that knows how to adjust the governor linkage, look at it.
