OK so the Allis is partially disassembled and what I found is, the head has been rebuilt and all looks goodas I was told by the seller. However there is some ring ridge, and I was wondering since it has the 3 3/8" pistons what is the allowable wear in the sleeve before just rings will fix it? The one rod bearing I took apart looks good and the oil pressure was ok so that may befine. Also what is the torque for the head bolts and rod bolts? Iknow a book would have all of the answers, but it is getting raffled off in September so money is an issue. Thanks

If the total change in diameter is more than about .005" (.0025" step at the ridge) she should have sleeves, or bored (if it is a no sleeve engine) New rings would probably reduce the smoke, ___some___. If it is at .010" it won't help, the rings move in and out so much per stroke they just pump oil.
Ridge reaming, and ball honing is always needed if you put in new rings. Jim
