What's up with corn spraying in west central Ohio?

For the last few mornings around me in Springfield Ohio there have been lots of air spraying of field corn and including on my way yesterday afternoon north to Urbana Ohio after work. Do we have a corn bore moth alert? I haven't seen that in a while. I was trying to stay with that Agwagon along the highway with my bike but the road wasn't straight enough at least that is my excuse. :)
 
They have been spraying for a corn fungus here in Logan County and likely most areas. Butch Fisher in Mount Gilead has been working his Air Tractors staedy the last 3 weeks.

3 weeks ago I was at the Bellefontaine Airport and 3 King Airs on the ramp with the service trucks. They were spraying the entire state of Ohio for Gypsy moths. In addition to the 3 King Airs on the ramp, there were 2 out on their run at the time.

Guess that explains all the spraying going out of our local airport in Connersville Ind. There is an active spray operation run from there but most years hes working farther from home.
 
We were on vacation up through Wisc. and Minn. a couple weeks ago and kept seeing bill boards advertising fungicides for crops. I've never seen that before in my memory I wondered what was up with that I know things are different down south but you folks raise pretty much the same crops we do.
Gene Dotson, did you see where S&M meats in West Liberty burned last night? My son text me this morning after he got back from the fire he's on the fire dept. there. The deer folk may have to find another processor for this season at least. Cause unkown so far.
