o/t Flight delays missed connection

Didnt make the Philadelphia/Seattle connection due to 7 hour flight delay from Manchester in the UK. Lots of misery at the airport with huge numbers of people from all over the world trying to get overnight accomodation and transport from the airport, we were lucky in that we got a hotel voucher from US Airways for one night but lots of people with small children and babies left totally helpless and very frustrated with the lack of help and advice. We hope to get a re-ruited flight today to Seattle sometime late afternoon but we are now a day short on our road trip and will have to drive through the night to catch up with our next hotel booking. Just had a steak breakfast at Dennys so now feeling more positive, weather really nice and met some nice travelers at the hotel who live in Portland Oregon. They had just returned from a trip to Scotland (small world)where they had been staying at our local small town. We may catch up with them in three week time when we visit the steam/ tractor show at Brooks. I have posted another few pictures from Scotland and a tractor or two. The tractors are mostly specials built for tractor pulling apart from the first which is a Fordson e27n based loading shovel which has sat beside the the Aileen Donan Castle show in the other picture, dont know how long its been there but I first spotted it around 30 years ago. I understand lots of people have tried to buy it over the years but the owner will not sell. Its the model with the Perkins 6 cylinder diesel engine as compared to the gas model. Anyone got one of these diesel powered Fordsons? I think they are great sounding machines.

Your explanation of the Fordson with 6 cyl. Perkins changes my first impression a little- I was wondering, With all that iron hung on it, I'd be surprised if it could move itself, much less pick up any dirt.

You're picking a good time to come to the Pacific Northwest- weather is about perfect- cloudless, but with enough "marine air" to keep temperature at about 75F or so.

Have a good trip.
