I havenot been following this too closely. has he checked foe a plugged converter? or bad smog pump, also an oxygen sensor will do that

Have not messed with it any. Been way to hot to worry about it and been to afraid to drive it to town to see if it makes it to town and back. With temps at over 90 plus and heat index up at and over 105 it is just not safe to even try it. Plus have a guy who will be here on the 26th to hook it up so as to read what is going on and hope that finds the problem

Seen my first (and only) Mercury pickup back in 1968 when I went up to Vancouver BC.

It was brand new and looked like a Ford, but with Mercury badges.
I thought I was seeing things, at first.
