PTO hyd pumps

i have a prince 540 pto pump on my farmall b. about 2200 psi and 25 gal minute pump. runs the log splitter real nice!!

i used an old 20 gallon propane tank that had the old style valve and welded some fittings on it. i am running an extension shaft on my pto also. they make several size shaft extensions. here is a pic of the pump on the back of the b. it was a mid winter hurry up fabrication, but it gets the job done.

Doug, I use one to operate my hyd. driven bale accumulator. I use a 2 gallon reservior which seems to be plenty.
Mine came with an output shaft, but you can make one by buying a blank and tack welding it to the pump output side as long as you are careful not to overheat the seals. Be sure to grind a notch for your female side and set the length(from face of pump to notch) to accommodate the your driveline.

Glennster, I want to put a lift on my wood splitter like you have to save picking up the heavy blocks. could post or send me some more photos of the rig?
Thanks, Richard

here is a couple more pics of it. for the swivel on the boom, i used the rear trailing axle end with the hub and bearing of a dodge caravan, then welded it to the splitter frame so it will swing. i picked up a set of log tongs from farm and fleet to hook up on the log. works pretty good and saves yer back from lifting the logs.

Thanks very much for the photos. I intend to do that to my splitter before winter. That gives me some good ideas.
