It worked the livin’ snot out of the ol' gal down in 3rd gear, but the M got my stack yards cleaned out.

Now to go out and retrieve those 408 bales. Think maybe I'll use some bigger tractors tho...... :>)

Morning Allan

Did you get that self propelled mower fixed up?

Haying has been a problem around here with every other day showers.

Some are finished with second cutting and some are still trying to get the first crop done.

That's a good looking crop of hay for dry land.
Be sure to stack them in next to the wind break where they will drifted over with snow when you need them.

Naw,

I got mad and parked the old slugger when IH wanted $151 for a little 8" pitman arm and then another $70 for the little piece that the sickle bolts to.

On a whim, went out in the weeds and hooked on to this old 495. Old and ugly, but the thing cuts way, WAY better than that International ever did (probably 'cause I had just completely overhauled it before I parked it years ago). :>)

When I get these bales moved in, I'm gonna use this old feller to knock down 100 acres over in the bottoms. That stuff is tall!

It's a 12' 495.

Can't tell ya how old it is, but I bought it out of a "killer row". Got two of 'em for $800; this "good" one, and then another for repairs. :>)

The air conditioning is a little lacking tho; I'm turning blacker than an old Ma Bell telephone. :>)

Prurty aint got nothin to do with it !! It finilly stopped rainning here about 2 weeks ago and I have rolled up 311 with a old 850 and a 706 . Use a 9ft 489 to knock most of it down but have to use a little 7 footer to get into some fields , they run from 3a. to 25a. I just play in a one man band and am wore out and like you I am now a man of color . On top of that I went and rolled up another 80 for a neighbor , the field was so steep in spots I had to use the brakes to keep the frontend from slidin down the hill , hard to keep the baler on the windrow [ got a few funny looking bales ]. I got them all moved and It s raining today and waiting for the next round .

Look, how nice and clean the tires are. They look new from driving thru relatively dry stubble. We have this look only during wheat harvest; all other times our tires were either muddy or grey with dust.
