One of the few things I miss from Northern In.Here in West Tennessee, they don't know about anything but catfish.

When I was about 8 or 9, we went to visit my grandparents who lived on Big Round Lake near Luck, Wisconsin.

Of course we did a lot of fishing. We caught a few walleye, bluegill, perch and I got real lucky. I caught a 5 lb. Northern Pike. Still remember that mouth full of teeth in that fish.
 
wish i could find a good perch lake around here, Mn dnr has stocked every body of water in the state with walleyes and they feed on perch.
 
I once caught a bunch of nice fish like that and of course a buddy asked where I caught them at and I wanted to keep that honey hole a secret for a while so...I just hooked my index finger in my mouth and said "right there." ohfred
 
My neighbor and I have a steep valley/ gullie between our farms. Three years ago we got together and turned it into a small lake. It is fifteen hundred feet long and about five hundred feet wide. A its deepest point it is twenty-five feet deep.
We stocked it with quite few perch and blue gill. This spring is the first time we have kept any fish we caught. We have been getting some nice 8-10 inch ones. They really make some fine eating.
I would just thank him and have him keep bring them to you.
 
I fish a pond that has perch like that.Most big ones are caught on Mepps spinners.I find shore fishing poor, time to register the trailer and boat.
