Truck tool- Problems.

OK, a truck is a tool. My sons company truck has a few problems since changing the battery. Ford F-350 V10 automatic transmission. It won't idle and the transmission won't shift. The "check engine" light is on also. There's not a Ford dealership in the county he lives in. Any ideas short of having it towed to the next county for service? David................

If it was run with a bad battery it probably has set some hard codes which cannot be removed with a handheld scanner. It will have to be cleared with a high end scan tool or a laptop with a vehicle interface. Wheres he at,if he's in Baghdad I can hook him up.

Got to scan the codes, no sense in guessing. The computers are generally a PIA, but since it's there, use it. Most parts stores that do service will scan your vehicle for nothing...

Like you say, a truck is a tool, got to have the the right tools for the job. A code reader or a scanner is a tool as well, the right tool for that job...
