At last we got enough dry weather to get the hay up. Nick went over and baled hay for TravisM's dad last week. I stopped in to check on how everything was going and got a few pics.

This has been the biggest streak of dry weather for us in two years and every acre of hay in the county got mowed.

Nick baled about 100 bales of mixed grass hay on Thursday. I went back on Friday and finished up there and completed our baling as well.

Who is this guy? TravisM's dad and I solved alot of the worlds problems leaning on a hay bale while nick baled the hay!

I bought this baler used and last year was our first year with it. It really drove us up a wall. The net wrap wanted to wrap up on the rollers in the net wrap unit. Seems like we finally got it to work much better, knock on wood! It missed two bales out of 200.

It was nice and warm thursday so wrigley was looking for a cool place to hang out but yet keep an eye on me.
Our dry weather ended about 2pm this afternoon. I was mowing roadsides just next to town and a little shower came up and it looks like more on the way. The dry weather sure did help us get alot of projects out of the way.

What a guy........ My girl just raised a litter of puppies and the last one was picked up a few days ago. Took her with me while cutting some weeds and building some fence. She watched me about the same way. Only thing she was missing was a glass of lemonade....

Same here bill, dropped every acre of hay and been hammerin for the past 3 days, only a couple days left to go. We do all small squares and all by hand, i tell you, its the longest week of my life, thanks for the pics, Toby.

Just came through Ill. Last week on the way to Minn. for vacation, looks like it was drying up and lots of folks mowing hay. Damn! Illinois must be the land of tollroads, ugh!!LOL

It is dry here in northeast, PA The corn is starting to curl it's leaves during the day and hay fields that have been recently cut are starting to turn brown. No rain in sight and temps in the 92 to 98 degree range this week.

We were almost done with our hay when the rains came. We were just heading up the road to bale the last of it, which would have been about 45-50 small squares, when we saw the curtain coming. We went up to the round a bout and headed back home, but we still got caught by it right as we got to the driveway.

Not too worried about that little bit of hay, as it's spread out on about 5 acres. Won't make much difference if we don't get it off until next week. We did get all of our oats cut and baled without any rain, as well as the rest of our 2nd crop, as thin as it was. Would have been better, but with 1st crop choking it out for 3 weeks before we could get out to chop it off, and only cutting it 1 week later.

Glad we got done what we did, and glad we got rain as it was starting to get dry too.

I keep forgetting my camera to take pictures of what we do . I have been layed up with a messed up knee and left hand now for two days . Eugene and Dusty got everything close to home done yesterday . Tomorrow we will move the 8-9 miles to the Zonka (sp) farm , yea the foot ball player and make that hay . Now that farm is not for the faint of heart and not for the unexperienced operator . It is steep in three places and lots of ground hog holes when mowing ya have to keep your wits about you on the turns or you will jackknife and get shoved down the hill sideway's .

Say Bill my net wrap we put cornstarch powder on the rollers. It's suppose to get rid of the stactic eletricity,so the net doesn't follow the roller around and wrap on it.
