No I don't. I can't get back beyond John Barr b. Oct. 14, 1767, d. Apr 21, 1850, lived in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Bureau of Land Management shows they acquired land in Muskingum County, Ohio about 1816 thru 1820 and moved there, later they moved on to Guthrie County, Iowa which is west of Des Moines.

John's son Nathan is my line. b. 1804, d. 1868.

Nathan's son George is my line. b. 1834, d. 1905

George's son Chauncey Evans Barr (C.E.) was my maternal line grandfather in which the information was about.

I hope someday I can get back past John and then maybe I can find out what country we came from.
The problem for me is that there were many John Barrs living in the same area

In researching the Barr name I learned they came to the U.S. from Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Germany, and one of the countries such as Sweden.

Wish your info would have been my line. Thank you for asking and providing the information which may help others.

philip also lived briefly in chester co pa. before moving to va . apparently came here through the philadelphia pa port which is in chester co. many of philips descendents moved to ohio later on.

I am descended from Phillip Barr who wintered with George Washington in Valley Forge in the Winter of 1777-1778 & was the son of Barnett Barr of Scotland who lived in Northern Ireland. I am interested in exchanging information about our common ancestors. Please email me directly: [email protected] -- thanks!
