I have a wheel horse/ toro Rider:
Yesterday it blow a fuze and it would not start
I looked at the fuse box the starter fuse was burned and melted and the space where the fuse
go"s was metled: So knowing that the space for the fuse is no good I cut all three red hot wires and wire and nuted them together and it started.
My question is,If I put a inline pig tail fuse back in will that be the same as the one that burnt out: I for got to tell you that the starter fuse was in a fuse bar, 1 fuse for lights and the other for dash and warning lights, and all of them work just fine.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND IDEAS.

HAVE A GREAT DAY

One side of the fuse is the primary power (battery) source. The other is the secondary, or equipment input. If you put an inline fuse rated at the same amperage where the correct source is on one end, and the output(s) (equipments) are on the other end...after you identify the short that caused your problem in the first place...you should be ok. The fuse socket melted before the fuse popped? Correct fuse to begin with?

Good luck

As far as how to correctly wire it up I hope you remeber but as far as the fuses a fuse is a fuse as long as it is the correct/same amp size so simple answer is yes you can install in line type fuses and be good to go but I would do so before you run it again or you might be rewiring the whole thing
