Saved my Battery

I knocked a almost new battery off of my truck, and cracked the housing. I bought a hot air plastic welder form the chinese store. It did the job, and I welded up the crack. From what I found in past repairs, nothing will bond to the plastic battery case, other than melting the plastic back together with hot air. Sometimes things do work out. Stan

What store? How much? which filler rod did you use? I've got a piece of plastic that is crack and want to weld it back together.....can you give some specifics?

Harbor Freight has a decent plastic welder with a heat control. I have always used a rheostat to control the heat on my old welder. Pressure regulator to control the air flow.

I bought the hot air welder from Harbor Freight. Item 41592. The tool was around 25.00. Which seamed to be a good price. It came with a regulator for the air. I had to use a battery holding strap from another battery for the filler material. I cut it in strips. Do a test spot to be sure it will bond. The plastic needs to be the same type, or it will not bond. Stan
