Water temp for a John Deere M or MT

What should the water temperature be for the John Deere M or MT. We have been told that it will run hotter than others because the M and MTs don't have a water pump. But what is hotter? Our MT runs about 210 C is that to hot?

Don't you mean 210 F!

Mine runs hot also but it does not boil over. I think it is where the sensor is. I have several Farmalls that also don't have water pumps. Farmall was smart enough to not put guages on them.

I have a JD A that has a pump but it also shows hot most of the time.

If 210o is too hot, then we're both in trouble.

The temperature on "Sam" our 51MT runs somewhere between 200o and 210o.

Same is true for "Rusty" our other 51MT.

While both tractors were "torn down", I did remove the temperature guage and test it in boiling water.

Gauges on both tractors worked fine.

I wouldn't worry until you see smoke or fire!

Just kidding; temperature on your MT is OK.

My 1948 M runs about 145 F. The sender unit is at the top of the cooling system and can give a false reading. The water level must be nearly to the top of the radiador or there will be no circulation.
