First off sorry for the off topic but I don't have any idea of where to ask. My mom has been looking for a movie but can't remember the title or the actor in it. Here's what she thinks she remembers. In the begining of the movie the main characters horse dies and he is burying it in the rain. He then gets sent to war and finds a new horse on an island. She thinks it was WWII. When the guy has to leave they won't let him take the horse with him. As the main character is leaving on a ship the horse jumps in the ocean swimming after him. When it gets to the point the horse can't make it back to shore the guys on the boat decide the ramp isn't locked in place right so they lower it long enough for the horse to get in. I know its not much to go on but thats all she can remember.

I can't help you there , but when you find out , please let me know . It sounds like a real drama worth watching . I hope you find out what it is . Did you check the library ? Just maybe someone there can help you . Good luck & God bless, Ken

I've been looking for "Guardian of the Wilderness" for several years. Found a copy about a year ago for nearly $100.00 THAT'S RIGHT $100.00. Anyone know where I can get it at at a fair price? I have checked all movie rental and sales and TV classic and old movie channels, no luck.

Here is a review of the movie.

ad feedbackA young orphan farmboy has dreams of building a ranch with his horse Bess. But it's WWII, and he joins the navy and has to leave Bess behind. But while on patrol in the jungle, he finds a wounded horse to nurse back to health and to love. And in return, this new Bess not only becomes the unit mascot, but also saves the life of her master. Written by Kathy Li

MGM's first feature film in Cinecolor is also their only film in which a horse played a dual role. The original story and screenplay by Jeanne Bartlett, based on an "incident told by Lt. Marvin Park, USNR" features an all-male cast, aside from the horse that played Bess, begins with a young boy whose father has left him a thoroughbred mare and an ambition to establish a stock farm. The boy is inducted into the Navy Seabees and is prevented from rushing to the side of his beloved Bess when she dies of pneumonia, and he is left with an antagonistic attitude. Later, on a remote island in the Pacific under Japanese bombardment, he saves a stricken horse he finds in the jungle and it becomes a beloved mascot of the CB company. And returns the favor by saving the boy's life. Written by Les Adams <[email protected]>

Sorry to be a fun killer but if you have looked for years and this is the ONLY ONE you have ever found........maybe it is worth $100.

Truth be known, I did the following Google search: [b:654c4848f0]WWII movie horse[/b:654c4848f0].

One of the hyperlinks was the address/website of [b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]horsecrazygirls.com[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0].

That's where I got the answer for the question posted above.

Funny that Nancy asked me the same question last night when I got home.

And then the fight started. . .

Everyone has to be careful these days while "surfing" the net.

I've learned to do a Google search and use a lot of search criteria.

I typed [b:654c4848f0]WWII movie horse[/b:654c4848f0] and the [b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]horsecrazygirls.com[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0] was one of the hyperlinks listed.

At least that what I told Nancy; I'm sticking with that story.
